You know what that means.....A Wedding on Walton’s Mountain- Erin and Paul Northridge prepare for their wedding on Valentine’s Day. Ashley Longworth Jr. suddenly appears and complicates Erin's life. John helps Erin sort out the confusing emotions that she is feeling. The wedding occurs as planned.
There were many “romantic” episodes on The Waltons but no others specific to Valentine’s Day. So if you want a “Romantic” Valentine’s Day viewing of The Waltons you may want to check out the many loves of John Boy (Jenny, Selena, Daisy, etc.), MaryEllen (GW, David, Curt, etc.) and or Erin (GW, Paul, Hank, Chad, Ashley, etc.) Of course there is always room for Jason and Tony then Ben and Cindy’s romance! A sweetheart viewing of Jim Bob and Patsy Brimmer and last but not least Elizabeth and Drew!
I feel the most romantic episodes are between Grandma and Grandpa as well as John and Olivia! Can you think of other episodes to watch during this romantic month?

Let me give you a start. There were quite a few episodes involving romance. Here are three:
The Minstrel 12/21/72 Mary Ellen meets a traveling troubador, Jamie, and neglects her responsibilities of helping to pick fruit.
The Love Story 1/18/73 John-Boy falls in love with Jenny Pendleton who returns to Walton's Mountain. Jenny's father and new step-mother follow her to the mountain. Her father is killed in an auto accident and Jenny returns home with her step-mother. John-Boy suffers his first lost love.
The Courtship 1/25/73 Olivia's Uncle Cody Nelson comes to visit with the Waltons and finds love with a woman who has been divorced four times.

The Separation was one of my favorite. I always loved the ones with Grandma and Grandpa in it.

The Separation was one of my favorite. I always loved the ones with Grandma and Grandpa in it. Me too. I also loved the Jenny Pendleton episodes with J-B. That was such a sweet romance. Now that I know they were real-life sweeties, it only makes it sweeter.

I'd have to say my favorite romantic episode is the one in which Erin discovers Paul's infidelity and leaves him for me! (Well, okay, that one didn't really happen on the air!) The one in which John Boy romanced the French bookstore owner was good as was the one in which he fell for the visiting poet in The Woman.

The Bicycle 3/01/73 Local blacksmith, Curtis Norton, has had John-Boy write letters to his bride-to-be. When she arrives on Walton's Mountain, life and Curtis are much different than she expected. Meanwhile, Olivia is feeling new pangs for freedom and something "different" in her life.
The Triangle 12/20/73 John-Boy experiences heart ache when his teacher, Miss Hunter, begins a courtship with Reverend Fordwick.
The Awakening 1/03/74 The two faces of age are keenly felt by Grandma, who is confronted by "old age" as she prepares for her 68th birthday, and young Mary Ellen whose tender 14 years poses an impossible barrier between her and a college student who lays claim to her heart.
The Honeymoon 1/10/74 John and Olivia go on a belated honeymoon to Virginia Beach while John-Boy and Marcia Woolery try to come to an understanding in their relationship.
The Thoroughbred 9/26/74 John-Boy enters the family mule, Blue, in the annual cross-country race and tries to win Selena Linville's affections. Grandpa had won the race years before.
The Marathon 11/07/74 John-Boy enters a dance marathon in Scottsville with a total stranger, Daisy Garner. What started as fun quickly becomes drudgery and Olivia comes to the rescue.
The Matchmakers 1/09/75 Cousin Corabeth Walton comes for an unannounced extended visit. Ike Godsey is instantly taken with her and they quickly marry. Erin enters the Jefferson County Sweetheart Contest.
The Shivaree 1/30/75 Wedding plans for a friend's daughter go awry when the mountain custom of kidnapping the groom get out of hand.
And there are still many more episodes to watch for Valentine's Day. Romance was a big theme on The Waltons!

They were real life sweethearts? Oh it makes watching those episodes more special next time! Good grief!! I have mentioned their real-life relationship probably ten times in the last two years.... and no one has ever responded!! I have pondered if Richard brought Sian Barbara into the show, or if they met there, and whether their break-up (and future wife Alma's arrival) was the reason the Jenny part disappeared....

Not true, Jeri. I knew that and mentioned it. Does anybody remember me posting this Patty Duke Movie "You'll like My Mother" that has Richard and Sian Barbara in it? This was about a year before the show, they probably met while filming this. So yeah, I am sure he helped her get the part. I figured He helped Catherine Burns and Bruce Davidson get their parts in their episodes too.

I post so much useless trivia that I can understand if someone doesn't remember all of it right off the bat.
