I have noticed that the three Walton girls can be pretty hateful to their brothers and boyfriends. These three girls have an attitude anytime any of their brothers or boyfriends answer them back. Mary Ellen, Erin, and Elizabeth seem to think they are entitled to their frequent hateful outbursts to the aforementioned men. My brother has noticed the attitudes of these sisters also.

Oh, boy, this is a pretty touchy subject.... I haven't really noticed much in particular from the three girls toward their brothers other than the normal sibling rivalry one sees in most families, nor toward other boys they know.... But I do think Erin is the most "female-doggy" of the three -- toward almost anyone! Perhaps her middle-girl position contributes.... she feels she has no "real place" and hence noticed less???

Oh, I have noticed it....
Not so much Elizabeth, but pretty much all the Walton women are like that. I don't mind Grandma too much.

Occasionally, I thought Olivia was a little too strict with the kids, and unfair once or twice, also Mary Ellen could be quite rude from time to time (though usually when under stress), and in A Wedding on Walton's Mountain I found Erin's attitude very annoying, but other than that, I have to say I disagree, I never found any of them 'hateful'.

Hateful? No.
Typical brother-sister relationship? Yes.
Every one of the Walton kids were annoying in some way, but I never thought they were hateful. I think it's common for any person to be a pest in some way or another. Especially brothers and sisters. Not to mention there were 7 of 'em!

Hey Brenda,, Is my thread about " Those Walton girls treating Men bad" still on here somewhere ? I was looking ,but I couldnt find it.
edit=I googled it
Mary Ellen:
#pretty much dumped on GW. He was a nice dude, and she bossed him around , threathened him with violence all the time, and threw him away to her sister like a hand me down.
# poor old David Spencer...Nice dude and she totally ripped his heart out at the wedding rehearsel. mary-ellen Kissed Curt outside of the church while David was inside planning the wedding. Then she led him on again when Curt was in the army. plus, she used him for drugs.(edit-lol-that part cracks me up everytime I read it.. It's true though. She did)
#Curt willard- see above- she was tempting david spencer while he was in the army. She basically ignored and did the opposite of everything he said. She liked driving him crazy. Heck, curt made up an excuse when she tracked him down after the war. I think he was just sick of her. He was sick of wars (edit-lol-ok, that part is just my speculation)
Erin-
#She knew GW liked her, but she used him for rides to work and other stuff. Basically, went to the army to impress her..Gw should have stayed away from the walton girls.
# that Chad dude-She led him on and basically could have got him shot by john sr during that elopement.
#ashley longworth-not a bad dude at 1st-but during that renunion movie-she brought out the worst in him...see next post
# Paul whats his name- Made Paul jealous by fooling around with Ashley longworth...right in front of his face. played both of them so bad that got into a fight. no wonder they got divorced. do ya blame him? (edit-I forgot that the reason for the divorce was that he cheated on her, like I said-do you blame him? I'm surprised she didnt look up David Spencer to kick him aaround some more.lol)
Elizabeth
Well, you dont really see her treating Drew that bad in the series. He was kind of dumb. in the renuion movies it is implied that she kinda dumped him for the thrill of traveling around the world. (edit and He was faithful to her when he was in college, but once SHE graduated high school-see ya, drew!!!)
note (this is supposed to be humorous)

Yes, they all get on our nerves now and again ... and again. Face it -- they're just like real people. That's what holds our interest after all these years.

I think you're being a bit unfair, or, at very least one sided, the males have an equal amount of relationship issues too:
John-Boy: Promises Jenny not to see anybody else and breaks the promise, possibly even just a few episodes later with Sarah Jane, depending on how you look at their relationship. He makes and breaks the same promise with Marcia Woolery. You could also accuse him of leading her on too, if you wanted. He also almost abandoned his whole family for Madeline Bennett. When he went to England, he still loved Daisy, then he just stopped writing to her and Daisy said she knew it was over, why is that? Did he meet somebody else?
Zebulon: Often acts flirtatiously with other women to make Esther jealous when he's annoyed with her.
Jim-Bob: Possibly had an unprotected one night stand with a girl, then abandoned her. That's a bit ambigouous though. According to Corabeth he's a bit of womaniser, wooing lots of girls with his car and driving them up on the mountain, letting them think they're special, then he'll just be with somebody else the next night, he agrees with her too.
Ike: Had an affair while married to Corabeth. Though whether it was an emotional or physical affair for you to decide.
Ben: Dated a girl just to annoy Jim-Bob and to make another girl jealous. He shouldn't be playing with people's emotions like that. When he married Cindy, he said to John it was so they 'wouldn't get carried away' so, he married her just for sex? Oh dear. He wasn't very nice at all to Cindy when they first got married either.
Jason: Very short tempered with Toni, even though she's only doing her job.
I can't think of anything about John though, he's a lovely man. But still, yes, as you can see, the girls are no worse than the men, and none of them are especially bad.

No, I am not being one sided or unfair when I talk about the Walton sisters' hatefulness to their brothers or boyfriends. Watch and listen closely: you will notice how hateful these three sisters can be when they deal with their brothers and boyfriends. They are hateful on many occasions when they deal with the men in their lives. Nowhere, incidentally, did I mention unfaithfulness on the part of any the aforementioned parties; I mentioned hatefulness only.

But, I still disagree that any of the are ever 'hateful', I guess it's all a matter of opinion in the end.

anne -- FYI, when you include a quote, you need to be sure to type in your new remarks under the line.... otherwise, it looks like part of the original posting.... just trying to help a newbie I agree with AR15 and think hateful is perhaps too harsh a word to use for either the girls or the boys....

Well, Daisy agreed to marry John-Boy without telling him she had a kid. Even after that, John-Boy still wanted to marry her, but Daisy told him she was staying.
Marcia Woolery was an evil female who pushed John boy over a cliff and broke his collar-bone. He was too nice to her.
He did act like a jackass to the "Wing Walker" Girl, Though.
Ben, yeah, his character was a total jackass in a lot of ways, but he was funny. Heck, those girls agreed to those dates. They knew they Jim-Bob and Ben would end up fighting over them.
Toni, well, I hate to say it,and I might get in trouble, but she was a major Witch with a capital " B". I don't rip on that character that much because she was only in a couple of episodes in the last season, but had She been a regular for years, she would be hated by all (if they continued to write her like that). She was REAL bad in the movies. If Jason hadn't sold his song to Elvis, they would have gotten a divorce. She knew he was a musician when she married him.
Cora Beth treated Ike like dirt for years b4 he "cheated" on her.
"When he married Cindy, he said to John it was so they 'wouldn't get carried away' so, he married her just for sex? Oh dear"
Yeah, and I bet that was the same reason why Olivia married John at age 16. Heck, he cussed out the preacher so he would marry them. lol
