Dear Fellow Walton Fans,
I hereby call on all people who love the show's dignity to show your support to add "The Tempest" to the unofficial deletion list. We will not consider it part of the series for its utter ridiculous plot. Any fellow objectors?

Couldn't agree more. While we're at it, why not add the entire season 9?

The Tempest is definitely my least favorite episode... especially since Day of Infamy is one of my most favorite episodes. I tend not to watch the Tempest. But I do like Season 9. The Outrage is a great episode.

only one episode at a time. I haven't seen all the seasons so I can't know.

I would cheerfully delete "The Tempest." I think they did the character of Curt a terrible disservice by that episode. If they absolutely HAD to bring him back, he should have had amnesia so he didn't remember any of his past life. Season 9 was a lot like a soap opera. I was really upset when they almost cancelled the series after Season 8, but had I known they were going to do that to Curt I might have not been so upset!

I agree 100% on this subject about The Tempest. I just don't know how they could have brought this idea to completion. I wonder what Earl Hamner's thoughts are/were on this episode. Curt should have stayed the Hero at Pearl Harbor. This new Curt was not in character at all and it was an insult to the memory of Dr. Curtis Willard!!!

And they never did said how Curt got back from Hawaii He was in the Army and would have had to wear his dog tags at all times. After the attack Hawaii would have been under marshal law there is no way he would have been able to get on a ship going to San Francisco with out orders and would have had to show ID to get on a ship. Also the was no commercial planes back then.

The Tempest is not one of my favorites either but I love season nine as the Walton family and the nation adjust to the postwar era and the changes that take place. And seeing the Walton children grown up and functioning on their own is great and having Rose, the Baldwin sisters, and the Godseys around is wonderful though it is melancholy when John leaves to be with Olivia in Arizona while she recovers from tuberculosis.

I think Patrick has nailed it. Although I did enjoy JD's quest to try and get Erin to return in The Tempest.
