I looked for a thread where members spot 'bloopers', but could not find one. I was watching The Burn Out (1976) this morning. This is one of my favorites. Near the end of Part 1, the family is sitting at the table having breakfast. At the beginning of the scene I could have sworn the tablecloth was red checked. At the end of the scene where John is explaining to the kids they will have to temporarily live with friends, the tablecloth is blue checked! One of my favorite scenes in the whole series is when John is consoling Olivia at the end. She is so distraught and he promises to rebuild the house the way it was. His character was such a good man

John says that he can't rebuild the house the way that he first built, yet in another episode grandma says that she help Zeb build it and that she had her three children in that house.
And of course the attic burns and we can assume so do all of the contents, but in future episodes people go to the attic and pull out items that should have burned.

I never thought about the storage in the attic burning! You're right, it most likely would have burned.

They didn't count on all the smart people gathering on a forum, 30 yrs later to discuss the many little things that most film editors would hve picked up on before airring the shows! LOL!!

.... and, of course, from viewing the exterior of the house, there is no room for an attic, anyway!

Long time lurker, first time poster. I spotted a blooper today in the episode, "The Roots." It's in the scene where John & Olivia are at the kitchen table talking to Jody. When the camera is from Jody's point of view there is a BOWL of cookies in front of him and when it's from John & Olivia's point of view it's a PLATE of cookies. At the beginning of the scene Olivia sets the cookies in front of Jody but I wasn't quick enough to notice if she gave him a bowl or a plate. Anybody else catch this?

I will keep a look out for it next time I watch it.

There are a few more of these in the Thread "When were goofs ignored?" including a post by Eric Scott regarding what the cast thought of these.

Darn -- missed that.... and it will take a while for it come around again.... Who on earth puts cookies in a bowl anyway ?? oh... maybe it was a very shallow bowl ....

In The Prize (series 2) when Oscar Cockrell comes to the Waltons House with the Baldwin sisters, John Snr and a couple of the boys are outside. When John turns his back (to the camera) he has a tear in the back of his shirt (I think it's where the stitching has come apart where the sleeve joins the main part) When he walks up the steps to go into the house you can still see the tear.....but a split second later when he is in the house greeting the Balwins and Oscar his shirt is miraculously mended!
