I'm finally back online. I'm in Maryland and we were out of power for 38 hrs after the storms Friday night. The electric came back just over an hour ago.
There are trees down all over the place. There are two trees laying across the end of our street. Thankfully they didn't hit any houses.
We lost the contents of our freezer but I managed to save most of what was in the refrigerator.
What a mess!

Glad you're back carol! You don't realize how bad you miss power, water, heat, etc. until you don't have it. We live in an older house that had cast iron pipes. We knew when we bought it that the water lines would have to be replaced but b/c of the horrible problems we knew we'd face we put it off. Well, in November the kitchen pipes burst! Talk about a mess we had one! Had to dig 7 feet under the foundation to find where the lines came into the house b/c they had built the house on top of them LOL so we had to run all new pipe to house and meter!
Hope you get things back to normal. Best wishes!

I shudder to think of losing the contents of our freezer! It's too full and I'm going to do something about that!
Good to see you back Carol!

Glad your power if back on. We are so vulnerable when it comes to our 'services'. I'm a big believer in 'Everyone should have a generator and some gasoline', but I know it's not possible for many people. I don't know which is worse; no power when it's extremely hot or no power when it's extremely cold. Either way, it's very bad and I'm glad you are ok.

I think cold would be better. You can keep putting on layers when it's cold but you can only strip off so far when it's hot. Plus you can put the contents of the refrigerator and freezer outside in the cold and save nearly everything. We actually did that once years ago when our refrigerator went up in the middle of winter. We didn't have to throw anything out.
