Hi-
I have been buying the various season sets as they come out, and am thoroughly enjoying them. Although I have the first 5 seasons I am only in season 2, so I have quite a ways to go!
I belong to the TVShowsonDVD.com board, and there is always talk there about how frustrating it is collecting Shows on DVD. What happens, unfortunately, is when the series has completed and all seasons are released, the company often times turns around and rereleases the series, as a "Complete" Box set. The problem with this is that they often add additional material, including reunion movies, which are often times not released separately.
I was thinking about the Waltons, and I know there are a few reunion movies (7 right?) and it would be ashame if we find ourselves having to rebuy the complete show in order to get the reunion movies, which we will all probably want.
Any thoughts on this? Anyone know who to contact in order to be proactive and let the company know we hoope this practice won't happen to "The Waltons".

Jack I have spoke to TVShowsonDVD about the reunion which there are total of 6 post series and they told me it's possible, but nothing has been announced yet. They only allowed to releases 2 completed set per year for any televsion show. We'll hear from them anytime either next month or Oct for Season 8 of the Waltons.

Most complete series come out with new extras or interesting packaging as an enticement for those fans who've already collected everything else. They remind me of "greatest hits" cd's that contain one or two new songs mixed in with the hits just to convince long time fans that they need to buy this cd too.
Little House is coming out with a complete series set. The packaging is a covered wagon. It has a few new extras but all of the episodes and 3 movies are available separately. Since I've only got a couple individual seasons on DVD I might buy this one if the price is reasonable.
When MASH did a complete series set a lot of people were angry that it included a bunch of extras...the individual seasons had no extras when they came out. Eventually the studio released a small set that had just the extras and the final episode movie.
With the Waltons movies, I bet there is enough material to do a set with just the movies which is what Little House did with theirs. Then they'll come out with a complete series set.
