What about a 'sticky' with a brief explanation of the content, that is then locked to prevent any repetition?

I could put a little message at the top of the forum, maybe right under the link about the favorite episode poll. Something like Will Geer was accused of being a Communist, and he was bisexual, Judy Norton posed for Playboy. Seriously, these subjects have come up on the forum from time to time since the beginning of the first Waltons Forum back in the 1990s. It is likely to continue as more people find out these little tidbits of information and come here, thinking they are the only ones who know and they want to "shock" us with the information. I think the best way to handle it is to let them post it, reply with a "We already know that." Then move on to something else. Brenda Good idea Brenda! I could care less myself but I suppose those who just learn this want to make sure we know. I'm a fan of the show and the actors too but who or what they do in their personal lives doesn't affect my opinion in the least. As a fan I like to know about the "actor" , birthday in case I want to send a card, other projects I'd like to see, etc. But their personal life is just that.......personal On another note does anyone watch Days Of Our Lives? I'm a life long fan! Last week one of the characters (Lexie) made the reference to their family (DiMeras) being nothing like The Waltons!

They probably used that reference because Ralph Waite was on the show for a while. That's funny, the Dimera's are nothing like the Walton's. That's probably the most accurate statement ever made on that show!

I suppose those who just learn this want to make sure we know. -Except that there is a lot of stuff about the actors that we don't know.
There are a few topics that keep coming up again and again. Nothing really wrong with it.
I guess people get so caught up in the show that it becomes real or that we want a place like Walton's Mountain to exist because of it's purity and when people find out things about the ACTORS they snap back to reality.
This is all make believe and that the show is a show acted by people who are not obligated to be as pure or behave as we want. I am rambling again

Good one, Scarlett, made me laugh Yes, Brenda, that's a good idea. Would be kind of funny to see a long list of "Yea, we already know that" pop up on the Board!

Would it be possibile for there to be a sub-forum on here (like there is for each season) but one specifically for the actors? So, that could be a place for people to talk about the more personal side of their lives and other films/TV shows they were involved in? That way, those who don't wish to hear about it can just check here and not see those posts, but those who are interested can discuss these things there. Just a suggestion

Funny no one brings up the fact that Mary McDonough, Eric Scott, Richard Thomas, etc. are all heterosexuals. That they have all engaged in physical relationships that have produced children.

LOL you guys.
So cool that Daddy - er, Ralph - has been on Days! I love soaps and I love The Waltons.
As far as actors vs. characters...I know who these folks are and love them because of The Waltons. I really don't care who they choose to diddle with, I love them anyway. And I'm so excited about the Reunion and the Fundraiser - simply to say hi and thank you and get a handshake or a hug.

I'm not saying he was or wasn't bisexual. That is/ was his personal business. I'm just wondering who actually confirmed this about Will Geer? Did he himself confirm it ? All the article says is that he was a confirmed bisexual.
Apparently none of his cast mates were bothered by his lifestyle since everyone loved him.
Has anyone looked at other actors listed on the site. It's really interesting.
