I think the actor's sexual preferences just aren't a part of what this board is about. I mean....why would we even care to talk about it? I for one, couldn't care less what any of the actors did in their private lives.

Best wishes waltonsportwriter I, for one, was definitely not judging Mr. Geer. I find him quite fascinating, especially his admitted Communist leanigs and his quite visible and vocal political activism which was shared by his long-time boyfriend, which relationship lasted until Will's death. He came out of two closets long before many others had the courage to do so, and he should be commended for his honesty..... He was quite a fellow. No offense is intended nor should be taken in today's more enlightened age . |

Maybe there needs to be a section when new members sign up that says ME poised nude and WG had a boyfriend and leaned toward Communism and we are well aware of it.
Kinda like making people go sit in a junkyard and look at wrecked cars before they get their driver license so that they won't clog up the roadways staring at....wreaks.

I could put a little message at the top of the forum, maybe right under the link about the favorite episode poll. Something like Will Geer was accused of being a Communist, and he was bisexual, Judy Norton posed for Playboy. Seriously, these subjects have come up on the forum from time to time since the beginning of the first Waltons Forum back in the 1990s. It is likely to continue as more people find out these little tidbits of information and come here, thinking they are the only ones who know and they want to "shock" us with the information. I think the best way to handle it is to let them post it, reply with a "We already know that." Then move on to something else. Brenda |
