I am glad to report that I have seen two recent guest appearances by William Schallert over the past week, The first was an appearance on a Patty Duke episode which was re-run from 1964 and was shown on a channel I had never seen previously, I think it was WTW which had a Patty Duke rerun as I had mentioned. William Schallert made an appearance as he was Patty Duke's father. The second appearance was this morning on an hilarious movie /TV reunion which was initially shown to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the final Dobie Gillis episode of February 21,1963--so it was first shown February 21,1988.It was Bring me The Head of DobieGillis shown on Fox Movie Channel. William Schallert whose part in the Dobie Gillis series was the part of the high school English teacher Mr Pomfritt(SP?) was the director/moderator of a high school production of Romeo and Juliet. Sadly William Schallert in this movie looked like an old man compared to the way we had known him on Dobie Gillis, Patty Duke, and The Waltons.

William S. AKA Stanley Perkins was a regular on The Patty Duke Show way back when. If you follow the website below and scroll to the middle - to last of the page, you can click on video 2 or video 7 (under the Patty Duke Show) reunion to see what Mr. Shallert looks like NOW doing a commercial for Social Security. I didn't really think he looked too bad considering he's probably pushin' ninety and still kickin! P. S. Mr. Perkins is still selling! www.socialsecurity.gov/pressoffice/psa-video.html

It's great to see Mr. Schallert still looking so good and doing so well for his age! He always seemed to me like a class-act performer.
