My wife an I are watching season 8 an just finished 7. We have been noticing things like Johns jeans are different or Mary Ellens big hair. They show signs of the 70's rather then the 40's. Definitely Farrah Fawcett hairstyle I knew from growing up in the 70's. Has anyone noticed this or some other examples? David

I think the later shows had different producers so they did not pay that much attention to what the 40s styles were like

Jim-Bob's haircut in "The Homecoming" is absurd for the time in which the episode is set. And Ralph Waite's hair is more authentic in the later episodes than the earlier ones, where it is too long. I certainly recall some flares on Mary Ellen's jeans when she was still in her early teens, too, which would have been the early-mid era of the show.
