I just found out on another message board that Peggy Rea, who played Rose Burton in the last two seasons of "The Waltons", passed away Saturday, February 5. Rest in peace!

I am sorry to hear of her passing. She was a good actress who helped to keep The Waltons interesting during their waning days.

So sad to learn of her passing. I remember that she appeared on "I Love Lucy" as one of Lucy's bridge playing friends along with Vivian Vance (Ethel Mertz) and Doris Singleton (Carolyn Appleby). She was at some of the Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League meetings as well that Lucy had in her apartment. Ms. Rea appeared on numerous other shows as well. Of course,I will always best remember her as Cousin Rose Burton. R.I.P. Peggy Rea.

That is sad news. I came to really enjoy the shows that she was in - not so much with the grandchildren - but definitely those with Stanley. Like the "Baldwin Sisters", she had a long life and would have been 90 this year. I will always remember her by that melodic voice.

Oh no...what a sad way to end my day... You know....when I first saw her on the Walton's, I really didn't care for her. It seemed she was taking Olivia's place. But after I watched the whole series a few times, I started to warm up to her and in the end just adored that woman. She really grew on me. This is so sad. God bless you Rose!

She had a great career and she was a great character actress - as Boss Hogg's wife LuLu on the Duke of Hazzard, as one of the members of The Wednesday Afternoon Fine Arts League on I Love Lucy, and as Rose.
She was certainly about family on the Waltons - her gift to Jim-Bob on his graduation and her relationship with Stanley.
See you on the other side Miss Rose!
