Hello all -- I hope you are surviving winter. Try to remember that it doesn't last forever and we should be grateful to have it to focus on other parts of our lives that sometimes get neglected in warmer weather.
Have you seen the ads on INSP for the Waltons reunion show on Super Bowl Sunday -- it looks like all the surviving cast members will be sitting around the old Waltons house family kitchen table reminiscing about everything, and they will show a couple classic episodes. Good warm up for the big game!
I watched the Competition on INSP last night (via Tivo) which was aired 10/30/75. I think the last few minutes of the episode are some of the best I've ever scene, showing Olivia and the family giving up the baby they had been fostering. For me, it's a very nice summary of all the pains you have as a parent, how you have to give up your children little by little, every day you send them to school for example. I know that is cheesy but I can't help it, that's how I feel. I thought the last line by Earl Hamner was beautiful too, how Olivia loved it when all her grandchildren came to visit at that house on Walton's Mountain. Almost 36 years after it first showed, it still has an impact on me.
Enjoy the day!
