In today's episode on INSP, "The Awakening," Grandma says that she bore three children. I am aware of John and his brother Ben who died in WWI, but I am not aware of a third child. Can anyone clue me in on this?

I always thought that it was kind of humorous that with Grandpa being as frisky as he was, they didn't have lots of kids like John and Livy did. ;D

Excellent point,Marilyn. Grandpa was always flirting with Grandma. They were the spice of the series.

Good point except it is grandmas that have babies and not grandpas. Grandma seems like a prude anyhow.

I think it was a little girl that died,.....and I love how Grandma pushes his hand away and then chuckles (kind of embarrassed) and draws it back to her. They were very cute.

in " the typewriter" grandpa's going through a trunk and finds a picture in it and says to johnboy, " this is amy she died of scarlet fever" and then he stops talking about it. i always thought that might of been a child they had that died young.

Nuts, I don't remember that. This is something to watch for next time I watch this episode.

I don't think many people heard it because they were listening to the sound of the typewriter. It was how one of the Walton rumors got started like on The Walton Thanksgiving 1963 where, early in the episode, Cindy says it hhas been almost two years since Virginia died and the cause of death was never mentioned. Some rumors began to circulate that Virginia had died of scarlet fever
