Hi Big Bruno. From what I can tell, you are correct. According to Michael's Biography on IMDB, Mr. McGreevey was his father.

Hi Big Bruno, you are right. Hoby Shanks was played by the son of John McGreevey, Michael McGreevey. You can read this in Earl Hamner´s and Ralph Giffin´s Book " Goodnight John-Boy".

Yes,Big Bruno,Michael McGreevey is John McGreevey's son. Michael not only starred in "The Braggart" but also wrote "The Conscience" from season seven.

The Walton episodes that John McGreevey wrote were always entertaining, sensitive and thoughtfully created to portray the best in human nature. And, yes, "Hobie Shank" in the Braggart (shown just a few days ago on INSP) was played by John's son Michael.

He and his talents will be missed. I have to confess, every time I see a picture of him he reminds me somewhat of Boris Karloff, and I'm a fan of Boris' too.
