Had always heard that the firefly inn on the Gilmore Girls was the Waltons old home. This past saturday, I saw the episode of the Girls where Loreli checks out her prospective Inn and man you can see it!

Oh wow, how beautiful when it's painted yellow, has new shutters and it's got a new roof! The spindles are different too. Gorgeous!

Is that a clothes hanger out in the front?Usually they would have them in the back of the house?

That's a trellis that vines grow up and over...

I sure do recognize it, and I also love the changes.

I don't recall seeing a trellis on the Walton's set?

Cause there never was a trellis on the Waltons set (at least not on the Waltons property). There might have been a trellis at the house of the man whose wife had died, but he pretended that she was still alive. It was the episode where we are introduced to Elizabeth's friend "Jimmy"

I was confused... you meant the Gilmore set. L(too much turkey and pumpkin pie on the brain)

They added another upstairs bedroom too, and moved the chimney along to the other side.
Shame it's not the real, original Waltons house. I think everybody thinks it is, but it isn't.

Close enough for me! It's actually around a mile away from where the old one was. All the original series + the 1982 specials were the old one; the 1990's reunions were the new one. The Baldwin house, and the church are still there I understand. The school I don't know about. Drucilla's pond, yes, but the bridge has gone. Godsey's store, gone. The house (Mark II) is also seen in "State Of Mind" and "Pushing Daisies" (not seen the latter - think it might only be the interior which these days with lightweight video etc can also be used for filming) I've got a pic of the inside... As for another fictional reunion film, I'm sure it will happen. TV producers can't wait to resurrect old 70's stuff, as modern TV is in rather poor shape. Certainly there is something of a revival of period drama on TV in the UK at the moment, and that might slosh over to the States. A case of when, rather than if, I think. Although if they wait too long I fear it may be more of a "Waltons: The Next Generation" (yikes). But if it's more in the near future, just hope Ralph Waite will still be with us.
