Hubby is out of town, but I talked to him on the phone and he thinks it has something to do with the cable box we have to use in order to get INSP. I'm afraid we're in trouble here...

We have DVR on our big screen in the living room, so will tape it there and see what we can do with it...unless it won't let us record it there either, but it should. This is a huge let-down! They best put this on DVD!

We have to use a cable box as well on the tv with the VCR, so maybe that is what the problem is.

Yup, hubby thought that too. I've recorded things on this tv and VCR for a few years now, no problems until the box got hooked up. _*%#_*%# ~!! ;D

Nothing like the joys of technology, cable boxes and vcr's just don't seem to mix very well, happily the dvr works

The good thing about this is, you can make as many copies as you want.

VCR's record analog TV and your cable is broadcasting a digital signal which won't record unless converted from digital to analog. DVD's are digital and will work with digital signals as will DVR's. I hope this helps.

I never had a problem recording with the VHS player until we hooked up the cable box to get the extra channels. The tv was already hooked up to cable.

I use the old outdoors antenna. Everything is digital, but I can record on the vcr. I have to put the vcr on Input 1 or Input 2 to do so though.
