I’m just now hearing about this. Sad. My sympathy to his family. May he rest in peace and comfort.

When I heard of his passing, I was deeply saddened. Tom was a fantastic actor and he connected so well with Judy and the character of Mary Ellen. Both of there characters were so strong willed and they both spoke their minds which made for some great dialog and scenes between Curtis and Mary Ellen.
He surely will be missed. RIP, Tom

When I heard of the passing of Tom Bower back in the early part of June this Summer, I was actually shocked. I knew he was older than Judy, but I didn't realize that he was actually older than Michael Learned. He was a fantastic actor and portrayed the part of Dr. Curtis Willard on so many different levels. He could be character that spoke his mind freely and very opinionated, but also showed much compassionate as well. This showed that Tom as an actor was very talented. He was a great addition to the show and as Mary Ellen's first husband. I do think she made the correct choice with him over Dr. David Spencer.
The one thing I wish that Tom Bower would have done is accept the pay that he was offered to return when they brought back the Curtis Willard character, but he did not.
R.I.P. Dr. Curtis Willard (Tom Bower)
