Hi! I’m very happy to have joined this forum. I wonder what is everyone’s favorite way to watch the show - eg, DVD, cable, streaming? I like amazon but sometimes miss watching it on Hallmark even with the commercials. Have a great day.

Hi. Welcome to the forum. Each way of watching “The Waltons” has its advantages and disadvantages. I first watched The Waltons in the 1970s during its first run. I tried to make sure to schedule nothing else on Thursday night so I could watch my favorite show. If I did happen to miss an episode, I tried to catch it in the summer reruns. We are so lucky that we have all these different options nowadays so we never have to miss an episode.
I have all the DVDs, but I rarely watch them anymore because it’s just too much trouble to take out a DVD and put it in the DVD player. Hard to believe I’m that lazy.
If I’m in the mood to binge watch several episodes in a row, I watch on Amazon Prime or Freevee.
I watch The Waltons on the Hallmark Family channel nearly every day. There are way too many commercials (yes, I know they have to pay the bills), and they often cut what I think are important scenes. I’m not sure why I watch it on Hallmark when I have all these other options. Habit, I guess.

Hello and welcome I watch on Amazon Prime. If one of my favorite episodes is on Hallmark I will watch it. I too have been watching it since its first run.

Thanks for the great responses! I like the idea of watching favorite episodes as they appear on Hallmark. Aren’t we lucky to live in a time when you can watch any episode any time you like! I remember having to wait until the DVDs were released.

I watch it on Amazon prime. We only have streaming in our house. No cable.

Despite having the entire uncut series in a few forms like DVD, Amazon and in digital form I still love watching the show on Hallmark. Sure Hallmark changes the broadcast quality (just listen to the opening theme music and the credits both are sped up to save time) and there's a plethora of commercials or scenes that are trimmed (cuts) in the episodes I still like Hallmark. I guess it's because of Covid that I still prefer watching the show when I can on Hallmark and since I live in LA it's on during primetime hours here from 8pm to 11pm plus the afternoon broadcasts, During Covid all I did at night was watch The Waltons when it was on from 7pm to 1am so it became routine and guess I still am hooked plus I like watching the previews for some of those made for TV Hallmark movies.

Here in Ecuador, I watch the episodes in order on DVD. It's the only way that I can watch the show. Last night I watched "The Waiting." It's the episode that introduced Robert Wightman as John Boy.
