In the episode where they have a church carnival to raise money for a struggling family. It's also the one where the boy genius Lyle is tutoring Johnboy. I seem to recall that either Grandma or the Baldwin ladies mentioned making something called Divinity Fudge. I googled it and it turns out not to actually be fudge at all. Here is a link. houseofnasheats.com/old-fashioned-divinity-candy-recipe/

Very interesting. I seem to recall having eaten it once or twice. Very sweet and delicious.
I enjoy all these little "finds" from the show... Good catch!

My husband’s stepmother used to make that. She just called it divinity, not divinity fudge. She would make it every Christmas, and it was delicious.

...it turns out not to actually be fudge at all. That sounds ominous!

The Genius was the first episode I watched all the way through when I discovered The Waltons as an adult

I saw the young man that played Lyle in an episode of MASH.
