In addition to watching many DVD's, that my cousin Ted copied for me, of the many programs my parents are in, the only other shows I watch religiously are "The Waltons" and Hallmark Channel Christmas movies. If all the people that are superfans of Taylor Swift are called "Swifties", can those of us who watch WAY too many Christmas movies on the Hallmark Channels be known as "Chrishallers" or "Masmarkers"? Nah - that doesn't easily roll off our tongue as one would hope! Perhaps some Forum readers could offer a more appropriate nickname??
But, I was pleasantly surprised over the weekend when I viewed "A Biltmore Christmas" and who should appear but Mary McDonough! She plays a movie director in one of the last scenes of the show. I was delighted that: 1: Hallmark decided to give the job of the director role to a woman and 2: the director was the Walton's own Erin. She is only on screen for a short time, but I thought she was quite believable. Rather than fumble with my description of "A Biltmore Christmas", please Google it and read the summary for yourself. It is an intriguing plot, quite unusual for a Hallmark Christmas movie, with unique characters, great costumes, a bit of mystery and a wonderful location shoot at an actual magnificent hotel that is in Asheville, N.C. There will be, I am sure, a number of additional showings of this enjoyable movie, so set your VCR's and add that to your holiday viewing schedule.
This must be "Mary McDonough Rerun Month" because I saw her just a few weeks ago on an episode of "The Love Boat" filmed in 1983. For a few scenes, she is scantily clad in a blue bikini. I doubt any of her Walton family, especially Grandma, would approve of her wardrobe and I'm sure CoraBeth would put her two cents in! But, I must say Mary looked absolutely AMAZING!! It makes me want to go and do some sit ups!!!

Jonathan Frakes, who played Ashley Longworth Jr on The Waltons, is also in the movie. He was one of Erin’s many love interests on the show.
Is that episode of “The Love Boat” the one that also has Dean Butler (Almanzo Wilder on Little House on the Prairie)?

No Brenda, this wasn’t the one with Dean Butler. I don’t remember the actor’s name, but Mary decided to lose her virginity during her cruise. Much to the confusion and frustration of the man Mary keeps stringing along, he doesn’t understand why she seems to want to sleep with him, but then doesn’t. Each time, he thinks she is ready to make love to him, she finds some excuse not to follow through.
It would not be a Walton’s storyline, but everyone on Walton’s mountain would be pleased Mary was still a virgin when they landed back in port!
