I'm watching The Shivaree right now wondering how come there was no mention of a shivaree for Curt and Mary Ellen? We hear Livy on the swing say 'goodnight Mary Ellen' but nothing is spoken about a wedding night shivaree. I guess the custom had either like John Boy says become 'a thing of the past' or the writers felt it just wasn't necessary to the story.

It was done once for 'The Shivaree'. The custom was explained then. Ike and Corabeth didn't have one. Yancy and Sissy didn't have one. Rose and Stanley didn't have one. There was no need to repeat the custom. It was just assumed to have happened (if it did at all).
It's like the Baldwins making a new batch of The Recipe. There was no need to show it each time unless it was pertinent to the storyline.

Just like The Quilting. Mary Ellen had her quilting party then there was really no need to show Erin's

^ Indeed. You just assume there was one. Same with graduations. You see one, you assume you've seen them all.
