When the Walton children did something wrong Olivia would send them to their room and to the Bible to memorize a certain amount of Bible verses.
Which of the Walton children do you think had to memorize the most Bible verses over the years? Having watched all of the series for me it had to be Mary Ellen. There was also Ben when he took John Boy's car and it got wrecked. I can't remember if Ben had to remember Bible verses for that or it was something else he had to do for his punishment.

In the "Adventures of Tom Sawyer" there is a scene involving Tom's Sunday school class at church and if a kid memorized 2,000 bible verses, she/he gets a free bible as a reward. And who would even want a bible after memorizing that much of it? A Bible would be the last thing I'd want to see after memorizing so much of it and really why would you need it if you memorized that much of it anyway?  |
