I just recently listened to an interview with Richard Thomas and he spoke of Earl Hamner. He went onto that he has a deep fondness for Earl because he chose a young actor in himself to portray him in what would be the Homecoming movie and then the Waltons series. He went on to say that Earl had that Southern charm to him and the kindness the man had was out of this world. He also said that Earl was very funny with this dry sense of humor that could have any in stitches all the time. He went on to say he cared about the people he worked with and listened to them. It really sounds like Earl was a wonderful man.
For those of you lucky enough to have met him and I am hoping Miss Tracey(Flossiesdaughter) can chime in on this as well with stories and interactions you may have had with him.
