Since my admission to the Forum in April 2021, I have been impressed and inspired by everyone’s AMAZING knowledge of the Walton’s: trivia, episode content, plot lines, cast interactions, scene stealers and generally “All Things Walton.” Just when I think I could not be more astounded by the talent of each Forum participant, I am AGAIN surprised by another fact, memory or observation.
However, I think Easton has earned the title: “Most Outstanding Memory or Researcher” in my own family tree! He could rival the knowledge of any IMBD entry. I feel Easton has been so kind in finding the names of TV shows BOTH my parents have done. But, I am even more appreciative of the kindness of the Forum participants for also being so supportive and welcoming about including info about my Dad when clearly, it is not “Walton related”.
I was brought up totally surrounded by everything in the entertainment industry and yet I am at a loss to figure out how to find half the stuff Easton has uncovered about my parents’ work. For example: I never even knew my Dad appeared on a sit-com like “The Mary Tyler Moore Show” until I saw the show name on a residual many years after he died. But what a tremendous gift to see the clip! It is so special. Thank you SO very much Easton - and thank you to all the Forum “posters” who indulge the information being shared. It means a lot!

Thank you, but you give me too much credit. The internet does most of the work for me. I just tell it what I want to know and it finds it for me.
Firstly, though, I knew your father long before I knew your mother. I knew your dad from National Velvet, which was one of the few programmes I was allowed to watch when I was a kid. During the first run of The Waltons, I was in university, then working during the end of the when I didn't even have a television. It wasn't until syndication and DVDs that I finally discovered your mom. Still, it wasn't until you joined the forum that I discovered they were married.
Secondly, there is no 'secondly'. That's the problem with using the word 'firstly'.
To find your father in the Mary Tyler Moore Show, I just called up both your mom and dad's IMDb pages and did a word search for 'Moore' in both pages. Mary's name came up in your father's page under the episode 'Second Storey Story'. I Googled that episode in hopes of finding info on your father's role in it and came up with a video clip on YouTube. I went there, expecting to find just a short clip. Imagine my surprise when it was the entire episode.
Then it was just a matter of watching the video until your father appeared as the officer behind the desk of the police station. His role was small, but he was immediately recognisable. I'm glad you enjoyed the clip.
My rememberer still works (most of the time), but it quite often needs a kick-start to get me headed in the right direction. Still, the brain is an incredible machine to store your entire life in its library.

I have to agree with Tracey. Yes, info is on the internet and yes, search engines do the work, but it takes some cleverness to navigate and figure out how to get the search engines to return the results. So I guess you have to wear the crown, Easton. 😁

I think one of the reasons I admire Easton and am so grateful is exactly what PatriciaAnne said: I think I might be able to go on the internet and find things out, but I think it might take me 10 steps and with Easton’s brain - he can do it with 5! Now, THAT’s impressive!!
I’ll have to use Easton’s roadmap and track down some movies both my Mom and Dad are in that I have never seen. It is a short list, but it still annoys me I haven’t seen them. At least I have seen “Flossie” on every Walton episode. I can check that off my bucket list!
I’m glad that Easton saw the TV series “National Velvet” so many years ago. While of course I may be a bit prejudiced, I think it was a really good show. Although it was a much shorter series, it was a wholesome show that promoted family values, positive sibling interaction and storylines that explored different aspects of growing up in a loving family but searching for your own identity.
I think their goal was very similar to The Waltons. Earl use to say he liked the fact that families could watch the series together and Easton proved, that all those years ago, “National Velvet” was a show that families could enjoy, as well.

Here's a start: your parents' IDMb pages listing all their credits (and a lot of other neat stuff!)
Both pages show that the couple had 2 children, but they show only your brother, Denis (with one 'n'). You, however, are listed on both pages in the Trivia section.
Happy browsing.

Holy Moly Easton!!! I have been reduced to my parents TRIVIA page?!? Am I in an philosophic dilemma?!? If I am NOT listed on their IMDB page — do I REALLY exist?!? That is truly disappointing!! I know, one night around 4am, I couldn’t sleep and decided to review each of my parents’ WIKIPEDIA page and, as usual, only my brother, Denis, was listed as their child. I think it use to say, they have 2 children. Son Denis is a producer. But his marriage to talk show host, Jenny Jones, isn’t listed on her page either! The IMDB content sure could use some work! I think I’ll have to figure out a way to add my name. Good Lord- I sound like an out of work actor desperately wanting everyone to know all their “credits”! But, hey, I think my outrage is valid, right?? Not one to deny my heritage, and the indignation of being completely left out of my position as the youngest child, I did go into each of their WIKIPEDIA page and changed the listing to include me!!
I think that would make my parents proud!! Now onward and upward to IMDB! Wish me luck! Thanks again, Easton, for the “roadmap”!!

I'm sorry to change the subject but I don't know how to start a new subject on my phone. It looks like Queen Elizabeth is very ill. This makes me so sad -- even as a Yankee, and an Irish-American one at that.
Have any of you who are in closer proximity heard anything? It sounds very dire. 😢

^ The family is gathering at Balmoral. That does not bode well.
(By the way, you can't start new threads in this forum. Only Tracey has that privilege.)
