Thank you for letting us know. I just read his Wikipedia article, and prolific is a good adjective to describe him. He has a very long list of appearances on film and tv shows and a career that lasted over 40 years. Philip Baker Hall

Philip Baker Hall was an exceptional character actor who's range went from comedy to drama. I just watched The Contender the other night and even though his role was brief he once again was completely believable as the retired senator whose daughter might become vice president. He was on Seinfeld and Curb Your Enthusiasm but then was in Boogie Nights and as anyone in film or TV would say his range was endless. Never a giant star but he was that familiar face you saw on the big screen and the small one too. Rest in Peace - Godspeed

May he rest now and be at peace.

What a shame. He was great in everything I saw him in.
When I saw his name here, I immediately thought of his Library Cop character on Seinfeld. I always get a good laugh from watching Seinfeld, but the episode with Mr. Philip Baker Hall as Mr. Bookman, the Library Cop is my favorite.
