Hello everybody, Before I joined this forum I had only the first four seasons of The Waltons, as only the first four are available in England, and I assumed that the series had, unfortunatly, been mostly forgotten (so much so that every episode would not be released. However when I found this forum, just under a year ago, I was happy to find that many people still enjoy the series and it insures that it is not forgotten and I now have all the seasons, which I have managed to order from America!

I'm happy you have all the series. Mine are worth their weight in gold! I didn't realize the Waltons was shown in England? Was it shown in any other countries?

Well it was shown around the time it was originally aired, but its never repeated now. And I don't know many other countries it was shown in, but I know it was definitely shown in Germany.

I am glad to hear that you enjoy the series especially since there have been a few viewers from England in the past---I am afraid Arthur Dungate from London, who posted a Walton episode webpage died several years ago. There was also an Irene Porter who visited the old web site for a while but there has beren no word from her in some time.

I have wondered about Irene. I used to be a Walton's Friendship Society member. I received quarterly newsletters.
Earl Hamner said "The Waltons" has been shown in every nation except China and Russia. Karen Kearney from Australia has an e-mail newsletter she sends monthly so the program has a worldwide audience.

Don't forget that it was also shown in Australia.
When I first got internet I searched for things on The Waltons and found absolutely nothing. It was because of that I decided to create a Waltons page, which went on the net in 1996 (very late in the year). I then had an email from Ralph who had the official Waltons site on the internet very early in 1997, and shortly after received an email from Earl Hamner. The Waltons Digest that I run then began at Easter 1997 and is still running.
zedxclan we have lots of Digest members from England, and I suspect that you had it airing there much more than we did here. At one stage it was in reruns on Foxtel, but we only ever got the first 5 seasons, and on some of their channels only 4. I can't tell you how pleased I am to finally have the whole series.
Do you know though...before the internet allowed us to create this world wide network of Waltons fans, I had no idea that there were so many collectables and show merchandise created? I didn't know a museum existed, or that fan clubs existed. I am very grateful to the internet for all the information it provides and for all the Waltons friends I have discovered. Karen (in Australia)

Yes I think it definitely was shown more here. It was repeated briefly in the '90s but its never been repeated since then.

Even though I own all 9 seasons and the movies ~ I Wish It Would Air On Television! I thought Hallmark would have picked it back up by now : (

It seems that every time I turn the channel over to Hallmark, Little House is on. That thing must run on and off all day long. I want the WALTONS to run all day long!

If it's not "Little House",it's "I Love Lucy" or "The Golden Girls" that's being shown on Hallmark. I love "Lucy" and "Little House" but I love "The Waltons" as well.

Some of the local stations are bringing back other programs now that the schools are closing for the summer. I think Leave it to Beaver and perhaps even Brady Bunch will be on one of the local stations--they were two years ago---and this means the Waltons could come back too.
