Is it my eyes, our TV or what. Sometimes John's old Model AA truck looks like it is blue and black and sometimes it looks like it is green and black. What is it?

My eyes are old and filled with swamp water, but I do not believe your eyes deceive you, bmcgill. That truck does seem to be a chameleon.

Just to sum it up the way that you did on my post ~ there are plenty of bloopers in the show! And, yes I know the show was all shot in CA; it was probably the lighting or maybe they used diffent trucks of different colors. OOps..............too bad!

Relax Rhonda and have some fun. Hey, I've been meaning to ask you guys if some of the shows on your DVD's look like they're done in sepia rather than color? I didn't know if it was because they were taken off old tapes or...maybe it was my DVD player? Some have good color and some are sepia tones. Anyone else notice that?

Let's face it the truck was already old. And therefore the paint would wear off and have to be replaced. It might have been difficult to find paint of exactly the same color several years later that would effectively cover all of the cracks and spots that had developed over the years. So they decided to repaint it a different color.

I love the basic black. I'd give anything to have a truck like John had. I love that truck....

Hi dfnmeows44. I've been doing auto body work as a hobby and jobs since the 70's. Trucks that old were painted in lacquer which would crack over the years. I never worked on anything that old so I'm not sure but most cars have a paint code on them and a paint store can take that code and match the color right up by using old paint charts up until recently. Now with computers and new technology they can match about anything. I recently bought some paint for the 51 Hudson I am working on and I had an old paint chart for it that I found at a swap meet. I took it to a paint store and they faxed the number somewhere and in about ten minutes, someone called with the formula to mix that color. It turned out to be an exact match. Don't know, maybe thay did use more than one truck.

Hey guys, how about the sepia question? I watched the episode last night where Pearl Harbor gets attacked and Curt is reported KIA. There was some color in the episode, like a scarf or tie that Mary Ellen had on over her blouse...that was brightly colored, but the trees and sky and everything around her appeared sepia toned. This is on several other seasons too. Anyone else have this? It's okay, but I was just wondering if it was just me or everyone....
