I have heard about this amazing group of people who responded to Americans in need after 9/11. It still boggles my mind how the order for every aircraft in the entire United States to be grounded in under 2 hours or so is truly unbelievable! I can’t imagine it as a Broadway musical. I thought sure it would become a movie. Maybe it has been? Easton, with his super sleuth talents will be able to find out if one exists. As I have said before, Easton should work for all the “alphabet agencies” as they are called : FBI, CIA, NSA, HSA - their agents ain’t got nothing on him and his amazing investigative skills!
Other interesting news: I had a quick text from my friend, Mike McGreevey this weekend. Last Thursday, I sent him a text congratulating him on his upcoming appearance this weekend at John & Olivia’s BnB. Mike texted me today they were having a “great time”! I’ll have to hear more of the particulars and will share them in The Forum.
One last sad note. I read, a few weeks ago, that my friend, and longtime actress on The Andy Griffith Show, Betty Lynn died. I mentioned her before on the Forum. She played the girlfriend of Don Knott’s character and she started acting as a teenager. As I have shared also, she was a lovely lady who lived a wonderful, full life and thoroughly enjoyed being with all her fans. Don’t we all wish we could live well into our 90’s and have a job where what we did made people happy and that will live on forever?
There is only one 'live' recording streaming on Apple TV+. Whether it expands to other platforms, I have no idea.
But it's a coincidence that you bring this up. Just last Friday, I posted about Come From Away in your 'Richard Thomas Leaving the Waltons' thread. I explained the premise and posted a YouTube video of the opening number, 'Welcome to the Rock'.
Here is the post and video:
Have you seen or even heard of 'Come from Away'? It's a Canadian musical about the events following 9/11 when a number of planes were rerouted from various American airports which had been closed due to the events going on in New York City. The airspace over America had been shut down. No planes were allowed to fly.
Almost 7,000 passengers on 38 planes found themselves stranded in a small Newfoundland town of Gander, population about 10,000 people. Doors were opened. Passengers bound for the United States were fed and given places to sleep until American borders were reopened and they could continue on their way.
This story was turned into a musical to be performed by a handful of actors, each portraying dozens of characters.
Here is a short performance of 'Welcome to the Rock' from that musical. 'The Rock' refers to Newfoundland. 'Come from Away' is the term Newfoundlanders give to visitors of the island, including the stranded passengers.

flossieskid Tracey I didn't know that you were friends with Betty Lyn! I adored her character. I watch The Andy Griffith Show as much as I watch The Waltons. 🥰
I got to meet Mike McGreevey in 2017 which was the last reunion I attended, and he was lovely. The episode he appeared in is one of my favorites. Looking forward to hearing about his weekend. It was a beautiful weekend to be on the mountain. I hope one of these days I can make my way down there and stay at the new B&B.
