I'm currently reading Earl Hamner's book You Can't Get There From Here and I saw that there was a 'Drusilla Pond' in it where the family goes fishing! heh heh

I always wondered how that was spelled. What is the book about?

It's 'Drusilla Pond' at least that's how it is in "You Can't Get There From Here", I realize I accidentally misspelled it in the title of the post.
The book is about a John-Boy esque character (named Wes) returning to his parents in New York after spending the summer in Virginia with his grandparents and cousins. He arrives home a day or so early and tries to surprise his father by meeting him at his office. Finding that his father is not at his office he heads home to his step-mother to ask where he is, she says he was fired and Wes finds out that he hasn't been home since. The story is then what happens to Wes as he searches through the streets of New York in order to find his father.
It's very good, I think its quite similar to 'The Homecoming' in terms of it being about a boy in his late teens looking for his father and coming across many memorable characters along the way, but that's not a bad thing and its still a very good book!
