Lucille Benson of Scottsboro, Alabama, played the role of Tilly Shanks in The Fledgling, 1976, season 4.
I think this was her only appearance on The Waltons.

Lucille, like Brian Dennehy, was one of those actors knew but didn't know the name. I'm still trying to picture her character on the Waltons. (For some odd reason, I've lost the use of the capital 't' on my keyboard.)

She was on a Little House on the Prairie episode too. She played a teacher who had broken her leg or some such injury, and Laura was her substitute teacher. |

I think Almanzo Wilder was 10 years older than Laura in real life. Going by memory here, I did not check the actual age difference!  |
