Yesterday when I wrote my first post introducing myself, I guess I didn’t direct it to the correct place. A nice forum member told me to go to the “Welcome” site and then click on “Create Thread “. I tried to go back to the few messages to me I was able to read initially, but didn’t have any luck returning to my messages to thank the correct member for their guidance. Maybe someone could let me know how to access messages? I think I pushed every site listed but couldn’t get back to my initial messages. Anyway, as I stated, my Mom played Flossie Brimmer. I have a lot of fun facts and stories about: Earl Hamner, Richard Thomas, John Ritter, Ellen Corby, Will Geer and Joe Conley. I will try to spread them over quite a few postings otherwises my messages would rival The Library of Congress with way too many words! I would like to think of myself as somewhat savvy when it comes to the written word, but I guess I am deficient in “Forum Directions”. For instance, I have no idea what “Bookmark this thread” means!?! Any suggestions or info on how to navigate this site would be greatly appreciated. I am surprised I didn’t even know this site existed but it is wonderful to know people still enjoy The Waltons and continue to be entertained by the beautiful stories and characters on such a wonderful series. I look forward to reading the comments from Forum members (past and present) and sharing some stories about the people I knew on Waltons mountain.

Hello, welcome to the forum. Flossie was a wonderful character. I especially loved at the end of "The Firestorm" when she read from the German bible ... gave me goose bumps.

Hi, and welcome. Flossie was always one of my favourite recurring characters and she certainly was missed when your mother passed away.
As for the forum questions, at the top of each page, just below 'The Waltons Forum' banner, there is a horizontal MENU bar. That's where you will find pretty-much everything you're looking for. The 'Help' button can be overwhelming. Navigation is easily learnt but may be confusing in the beginning if you are not familiar with Bulletin Board such as this forum. If you need help, it's usually easier just to ask (as you did with your 'Comments' question which I'll get to momentarily.
On the Forum Menu Page (where you found the 'Welcome' sub-forum, scroll down a bit to the 'Info About the Forum' link. Go in there and ask your question in a new post, or you may even find your answer in another thread already posted there.
Now, for your 'Comments'. Go back up to the menu bar beneath the banner. Near the right side you'll see 'Comments'. These are private messages sent to you that no one else can see or access. They are, in fact, mini-threads which contain all the correspondence between you and the person who messaged you. You can reply to comments just as you would reply to a post in a thread and no one will see what you wrote except the person you sent it to.
So, click on 'Comments'. Your message will be there.
Again, welcome, and don't be embarrassed about asking for help. Besides conversation, that's what we're here for?
PS: Did your mother make cookies as good as Flossie did?

Hi flossieskid, I'm so glad you joined our forum, and I’m looking forward to reading the stories about your mother and her character on The Waltons. I am going to attempt to give you a quick explanation of the forum. As you spend more time here, I think you’ll become more familiar with how the forum works. At the top of the forum, just under the banner, there is a menu bar. If you click on Home, it will take you to the main part of the forum. You will see that the forum is divided into four categories: The Waltons Forum The Waltons Episode Discussion Group Just For Fun Other Topics Under each category, there are Discussion Boards. There is a description of each board so you will know what kind of topic to post there. For example, on the “All Things Walton” board, you can post just about anything that is about The Waltons. Stories about your mother would probably go on the “All Things Walton” board. You may want to take some time to visit each board under each of the four categories to familiarize yourself with some of the topics we discuss here. Back to the main menu at the top of the forum, under the banner, next to Home, you will see Recent Threads. Many of us use that option each time we visit the forum to see new threads or posts which have been posted since we last visited the forum. This is just a quick explanation to get you started. If you have questions, feel free to ask them. Don’t worry about posting in the wrong place. I can always move posts to the appropriate board if someone accidentally posts on the wrong board. I hope this helps get you started. Once again, welcome to our forum. I’m looking forward to reading your posts.

Welcome, Flossie's Kid!!! 💗 We are so excited to have you here! I look forward to reading all of your stories. I loved your mother's character and she played a pivotal role in one of the most riveting Waltons' scenes (reading the German Bible).
The Waltons' fans number in the thousands, maybe hundreds of thousands. What a wonderful testament to this beautiful series. And when we don't have a pandemic going on, we also have reunions in Schuyler, VA, Earl Hamner's birthplace. I hope when the reunions begin again, you will be able to attend one. There is even a B&B that was created to replicate the Waltons' house, as portrayed on the tv show. It's across the street from the real Hamner home.
Looking forward to getting to know you! Thanks so much for joining!! 🥰

VisionTV broadcast 'The Triangle' and discovered that this episode featured the first appearance of Flossie Brimmer. She certainly looked different. Brown, wavy hair and wearing a blue patterned dress. Her appearance was very short - measured in seconds.
She looked so different from the later appearances. I'm glad they made her more 'down-to-earth'. It seemed more natural for Nora.

Miss Tracey/Flossieskid, I think it is so awesome to have you here on this forum. You mom was such a special part of Waltons Mountain and a wonderful actress. I love how she ran the boarding house and how they talked about your mom after she had passed away in the episode about Will Geer. I could tell how the cast loved her. I also loved when Patsy Brimmer sent Olivia, Flossie's ring. Olivia had a special relationship with your moms character.
Having you here is like having an inside connection to the show and I think that is great.

Miss Tracey, first off you do not have to answer this if you don't want to as you have probably gotten this sort of question millions of times before. What was it like growing up with celebrity parents? I know they were just mom and dad to you, but others probably were like you are the luckiest kid on the block. I mean you had your dad involved in shows and your mom in a very popular show, it had to be really cool.
I have written here that I want to go to college to study dance and hopefully at NYU in New York City. Dancing has always been my passion since I was a little girl and my dream is to one day be a Broadway Dancer or maybe a Choreographer or a Dancer for a Singer on tour. I feel I have dedicated my life to dance since I was 4 and took my first ever class. I know I am still really young and it is really hard to do what I want to do, but I think deep down if you want something bad enough it can really happen.
I think you got to see that first hand with your family. They worked hard and they are also so very talented and it happened.
So like I said you don't have to answer any of the questions I asked in any of this post, but I do think it is really great you are on here Miss Tracey.
