He could have played on Lawrence Welk and gave Jason a run for his money.

My grandfather had a 1 man band back in the 40's and 50's. He played the piano, violin, accordion and drums.
I have three of his accordions and two of his violins. Never much interested in playing the accordion (all those keys and buttons seem way too complicated) but always wanted to get his violins repaired and learn to play. Haven't done it yet and I fear it is too late.

I am teaching myself piano & though I may never reach classical concert pianist level, I am enjoying myself & those who hear me play. They say if you learn something new your brain continues to grow. Like exercising your muscles.it becomes stronger & more limber. It has to do with neuro-plasticity. By working on something you've never done before, your brain fires off neurons making & strengthening new connections. I've also got lots to learn on banjo & that's another fun instrument to play. As long as you have fun, enjoy your fiddles & whatever inspires you. For added inspiration, you may enjoy the film Music of the Heart with Meryl Streep. Based on a true story about showing children, in a tough environment, the beauty of music through learning violin.

Not too many people like the accordion. Here's a young gal who's taken a liking to accordion. For fun (for all our forum members) see how many songs in this medley, we can name or at least describe.I hear nine quotes from famous pieces.
