John Boy drove [beat on ] this '29 Ford pretty hard all the years of the show. He'd stand on the throttle and dump the clutch all the time. Tough old girl though. Of course, we don't know about the repairs behind the scenes either. Just watched "The Achievement" today. John Boy went to the publisher in New York, thinking his manuscript may have been lost. Great episode; also the very last weekly episode for Richard Thomas. Wish Earl had mentioned at the end of the show, if Daisy had won the part in the musical. Love visiting you all, Mike

I love cars and visit an auto auction website daily and dream of owning all the amazing cars. Came across this listing that obviously made me think of John Boy's car. bringatrailer.com/listing/1929-ford-model-a-56/Interesting that while this looks like it is a convertible, it is not. It is a stationary cloth top that does not fold down. I always thought that the roof of John Boy's car looked like cloth and/or that it may have opened. I guess it might be cloth but probably did not open.
