Here you go. Eric Scott · Today marks 49 years ago that we started filming "The Homecoming". This is from an early version of the script. Notice Mama is still named Dorrie not Olivia, and there was another son named Stuart and fortunately I got his lines. Pretty amazing what this all led to!

I've read somewhere in this forum that Ben was based upon 2 of the Hamner brothers. This rather confirms it.

I've read somewhere in this forum that Ben was based upon 2 of the Hamner brothers. This rather confirms it. I don't know about confirming the two brother merger based on this section of script. It only indicates Ben took Stuart's lines. If it showed Ben also having his own lines , then i would agree.

That’s cool to see. I’m glad they use Olivia instead of Dottie for the mother’s name. That’s my favorite Christmas movie to watch. The Waltons Homecoming.
