I remember Jim Bob could not be a pilot because of his eye sight. Mary Ellen took him to the eye doctor and he got glasses. He put them on in that episode but I don' remember him ever having them on again. Anybody know why?

He never like to wear em' so he decided to be a mechanical but he did ended up flying his own airplanes and never wore any glasses. In the post-series "Walton's Thanksgiving Reunion" he told his brother Jason that he is doing well as a pilot, getting work in crop dusting and charter flights.

Thanks for the info Tracey and ssMarilyn. I wondered if David Harper himself did'nt like to wear them or was it written in the show that Jim Bob didn't like to wear them. Yes I remember somehow Reckless had and sex change. Ha Ha

Wh at episode did he get his glasses in?I don't remember seeing that one.Season 7 "The Tailspins" at the very end of the episode where Jim Bob arrives with a propeller in his car. He announces his intention to build an airplane so he can gain experience as a mechanic for the Air Corps. While wearing his new glasses, Jim Bob shows John a picture of the airplane.

bmcgill, you have a lot to look forward to if you haven't seen all the episodes yet. I wish I hadn't seen them all yet!

ssMarilyn. Yes I hope to get all of the DVDs in time. I graduated high school in 1977 and went to work on night shift so other than Hallmark I guess there are several episodes I have missed. Rhonda. Yes that would be great but I dought there are any. More bloopers would be good too.

I'd say glasses were expensive back in those days too. In those days not as much as today but a dollar went a lot farther then.

I remember when someone screamed when they heard that cigarettes at a so called drug store in a hotel were 4.50 a pack----some stupid smoking addicts probably wish they cost that today!

I am one of those stupid addicts myself but I wish I was'nt. Not offended by what you said at all because you are right. I have tried every way I know of to quit but haven't done it yet. I'm getting ready to start another stop smoking program. Maybe I'll make it this time. Remember, I'm not offended. Actually it is kind of funny.

I remeber the scene where Jim Bob had tried on glasses. Until he found the right one, he can see out if. Now these days. You just picked the frame & they do the lens for you. (You dont want to know, the price of ym glasses.) They are not cheap. The worst your eyes are, the more expensive the glasses are.
