Daniela, I, too, miss you. And hope you are not holding onto disappointments regarding Frank. Please come back to the rest of us. You contributed to this forum in wonderful ways. Jeri

Hi! I'm here!! It's been a long time since I've written on the forum! One of my sister's starting watching the Waltons about a month ago. She was asking me questions because she was watching them on TV and they were out of sequence. I gave her all my DVD's to watch and she binge watched the Waltons. I actually felt a little envy that she was watching them for the first time lol. I kind of miss the "I don't know what's going to happen" in episodes. I haven't watched the Waltons in quite a while, but I think because my DVD's are dusted off now, I'm going to rewatch them, and it's been so long it might seem like the first time Thank you Cindy and Jeri for thinking of me. It means a lot to me. I've missed all of you as well!

So, I've been thinking... and, I believe the thing I like most about you is your love (and knowledge) of animals -- so evident in many of your postings. I have always wished that "The Waltons" had more animal stories.... and find it odd that they didn't... JJ

They had a few stories with animals. Let me see how many I remember here... Chance the cow, and her baby Bullet. Reckless, although I can’t think of an episode where he was a big part of the story, Calico the cat, Pete the raccoon, and Rover the peacock. You’re right Jeri, I’m surprised they didn’t have more!

Myrtle the goat and her baby, Gingerbread, the story about the old dog that showed up and had a final romp with Reckless before dying, the puppies at Ike Godsey's, when one was given to the little boy in "The Ghost".
Reckless had a couple storylines: 1) getting shot by John's friend; 2) the one where he died. There was a storyline about Miss Emily getting a pet. She wanted a bird but ended up with a big dog. There was Elizabeth's 4-H pig and Ben's pig at the state fair. There were a few equine storylines: 1) the horse race Erin and Maryellen entered, 2) the horse race John-Boy entered, 3) Elizabeth's interest in horses, making Drew jealous (the mare dies, but they keep the foal), 4) the wild horse that the Waltons save and release on their property. 5) the pony given to Elizabeth by the Baldwins.
A couple of characters ride horses in the show, although not a featured storyline, per se: 1) Miss Nora, the nurse, who later leaves the horse for Maryellen, 2) Selena, 3) I think that weird artist who was interested in Erin and 4) Erin is riding a horse when she meets her first husband. Then there are all the times you see the various Waltons riding Blue.
