Yes, I did specifically notice his absence in that episode. There were some episodes in s.7 when grandma wasn't there, but I'm sure we know the reason for that. She was getting older, and with the stroke. Hard to act constantly.

Did nt they mention somewhere that David Harper was sick during the filming of several of the episodes so they had to leave him out. Remember Victor Izay played the part of Doc Vance but in one episode Doc Vance's name is mentioned and he appears played by a different person. And rememember AJ Covington appeared twice in the person of two different actors!

This may not be considered as a blooper but in the episode "The Awakening" grandma is having problems with her hearing and she doesn't want to admit that there is a problem. She is in her bedroom and Olivia has Mary Ellen to take a tray of food into her and grandma gets upset with Mary Ellen and tells her that she will come to the table to eat and she goes on to tell Mary Ellen all the hard work she has done in her life and she also says she has bore 3 children. I know Grandpa and Grandma had Ben who died in the war and of course John but has anyone heard anything else about a 3rd child? That is true. She actually have 3 children. The 3rd is unknown probably died at birth..

Someone commented on that site that the two "Curts" were actually brothers. Anyone know if that's true?

I 'researched' Tom Bower (Original Curt Willard) and Scott Hylands (2nd Curt). I could not find any connection between them other than they both played Curt Willard.
Tom Bower was born January 1938 in Denver Colorado. He started acting in 1973 and continues to this day. Scott Hylands was born 1943 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. He started acting in 1969 and continues to this day.

The Mother of all Waltons Bloopers has to the last episode of Ms Michael Learned as a regular, when she is hugging everyone at the end, she hugs Erin but calls her "Mary", which is the name of the actress, not the character!!!
Cannot believe this slipped past the show's editors. LOL

Also, this show Jumped the Shark with that God Awful "Poltergeist" episode and the plot inconsistencies in the reunion movies with Ben's family disappearing & Mary Ellen having kids after they made such a big deal out of how she could no longer have kids! That stuff is pure trash & not worthy of the original high quality nature of the show. Also, I understand, Curt pulled a Michael Myers/Jason & wasn't really dead! Again, that kinda garbage is why they pulled the plug on this once high quality TV show.

Jim-Bob's birthdate changed between Season 3 and 4. In the S3 episode, "The Runaway," Jim-Bob tells the Army recruiter that his birthdate is June 13, 1924. In the S4 episode, "The Secret," John Boy and Jim-Bob look up his birth record at the county courthouse, and it is shown to be January 13, 1923, a year-and-a-half earlier. I'm wondering if the writers decided to age Jim-Bob due to David Harper's growth spurt and voice change at the time. "The Secret" is also the episode where Olivia and John comment that Jim-Bob has "grown six inches this year alone" and "now he's got a voice like a man." The writers seem to have changed his birthdate again at some point along the way, however, since he graduated from high school in 1944, which, calculating from either of the above dates, would have made him 20 or 21.

As I was watching Season 9 Episode 7 "The Last Ten Days" last night, I do believe I caught a blooper, where Ben was just let out of the hotbox where he was put by his Japanese captors and him and another prisoner were being led into the jungle, in one scene his t-shirt was fine but in the very next one he had 2 rips in the back of his shirt, has anyone also caught this?
