I wonder if INSP or Hallmark will have specials on, Spencer's Mountain, The Homecoming, etc. Anyone know?

Something about "homeboy" just doesn't sound right to me... Otherwise a nice tribute. I'm confident it was meant with respect and affection.

Oh my! I don't know how I missed this news. Goodnight Mr. Hamner and thank you for your stories. RIP.

I still have to gather my thoughts before I sit down and write a tribute to Mr. Hamner, but I will offer this for now: did anyone else notice how he passed from this life to the next on a THURSDAY? Somehow I think that is VERY appropriate for all of us who love and appreciate THE WALTONS. Cheers and sincere sympathy to all my fellow fans! From Ecuador, Ned

Along those lines, last week I sent a note to the SyFy Channel on their web site, www.syfy.com/feedbacksuggesting that they run a Twilight Zone mini-marathon (maybe 4 hours total) of their Hamner-written shows in one evening. No response, but I'll be watching their schedule.

Most of the Walton's "kids" - Judy, Kami, Mary, Eric and Jon - acknowledged Earl's passing on their individual social media accounts. I know David Harper keeps a very low profile, but I have not seen any formal statement from Richard Thomas. That seems a bit odd to me, with his role as John Boy.
Did I miss any news bite or acknowledgement from Richard?

I haven't heard anything about Richard Thomas either... Regarding Earl's death. (Not a big shock though.)

I didn't see anything, so I must have imagined that. But it looks like Richard does not have a FB page (at least not a public one). Not sure if he has a Twitter account. With a low social media presence, the only way a statement would get out there would be if someone from the press called him and asked him for one.

I don't think any of the articles I read about Earl's passing had a quote from Richard. It's none of my business who comments, but as close as Richard is to the character, which represented Esrl, it's surprising to me...
