I hate to "tell on myself" but I'm almost certain I posted a while back that I'd spotted the actor who played young Ashley Longworth on an episode of "Gunsmoke". Yeh, now I'm certain because I remember saying he was engaged to a gal solely for her inheritance, specifically from her alcoholic father. I looked up the actor's name (it's playing right now on INSP) to see that it's actually Victor Holchak and not Jonathan Frakes. I wasn't familiar with either actor, obviously, which is why I didn't recognize the name the first time. I'm surprised that I wasn't corrected here... or if I was, I missed that, too! Maybe if I looked at them side by side, I'd see the difference but they sure seem to look alike to me!

Rachel Longaker's own hair was sort of thin and wispy and probably not long enough to cut off and sell, so she obviously was wearing a long hair wig. The short hair wig did look ridiculous, but neither of her wigs could beat the hilarious wig that Alison Arngrim wore in that episode. Ugh... I must have missed that bit of the plot. So she *sells* her hair? I just thought the shock of her cutting it brought her mother out of her shell and made her join society again (and date that bloke). I'll watch it again, because I've supposed to have done a synopsis of this for a website I have on it, and I missed the selling bit. The whole episode is a bit screwy, to be honest. I can't see that cutting her hair is going to bring about a change in her mother in any case. "Oh yeah, my daughter's cut her hair - now I must stop being a recluse." She sold her hair to get money to buy her mother a new dress so she would come to her school play.

I haven't seen Sy-Fy channel announcing anything, so it seems that the usual holiday Twilight Zone marathon has moved to the DECADES cable channel. www.decades.com/articles/tune-in-to-our-twilight-zone-marathon-on-the-fourth-of-julyHowever, as it's a one-day thing on July 4, it's a limited sampling of the show's offerings. The only Earl Hamner-scripted show I see is 1:30AM (i.e., Thurdsay) - "The Bewitchin' Pool." But, on the plus side, there's little or no chaff in here: It's the best of this memorable series from the 1960s.

I've never heard of the "Decades" channel, but I've always enjoyed the Twilight Zone marathon on New Year's Day. I think that tradition started on the USA Network, back in the early 90's, and then moved to Sci-Fi(SyFy).

It's channel 467 on Orlando's Spectrum service, and available with the cheaper converter box. That will vary locally, of course. This weekend they're running the entire Tarzan tv series with Ron Ely from 1966-68, something I haven't seen since it originally aired.
Added: It's a CBS sub-station, along with ME-TV, so if CBS is, say Channel 2.1 in your area, you might find these at 2.2 or 2.3 on the digital air.
I scanned the IMDB page for Tarzan for any Waltons actors, but only found the ubiquitous John Crawford in one episode.

I note that Sundance Channel has a Dirty Harry marathon on today (July 4). In the third film, The Enforcer (1976), John Crawford plays the Mayor of San Francisco. His character is a hypocritical politician, and quite ineffectual: Clint Eastwood has to rescue him a lot.
It's on again at 10:45 Eastern.
Edit: The film is quite topical. Harry is trying to round up certifiably bad guys, but much of the populace defends them.
