Yes he (Kinchloe) and Newkirk were my favorites on Hogan's Heroes.
Dixon directed 2 of my favorite Waltons episodes, The Job and The Breakdown.

In Hogan's Heroes, I loved the telephone impersonations of Nazi generals, SS types, and even Hitler himself that "Kinch" used to do so well. Ivan was great.

I was a child when Hogans Heroes was on tv but even today when it is on I don't like it, I must be one of the few people who did not enjoy that show, maybe the humour went over my head at the time but I still don't find the characters all that watchable. I used to find Bob Crane kind of sinister to look at. My nan loved it so we had to watch it when she stayed with us, I was more of a Petticoat Junction/Greenacres kind of kid at that time

I've been Watching Hogan since I was a kid. I think it says a lot about how the characters can poke fun at the Nazis, when so many were effected by them in real life. Robert Clary was in a concentration camp, lost some of his family. Werner Klemperer and John Banner both had to flee Germany.

Robert Clary use to be on Days of our Lives and The Young and The Restless along time ago. Yes, I remember that. I used to watch soaps when I was home sick from school. It was the best place to find people that were more miserable than me. Since the passing of Cynthia Lynn (the first Helga) recently, I believe Robert is now the only living member of the original cast.
