Okay so I was reading The threads about The Homecoming and after watching the movie I was inspired to write a poem regarding John Walton's journey home that Christmas.
Now by no means do I think of myself as a poet...just now and then...every 10 years or so...lol... I get inspired and create.
Hope you like it! I am not good at downloading here for some reason so I hope the picture shows up
The Journey Home
It’s a dark and Chilly night
I’m weary to the bone
Only the light of the December moon shines
To guide my journey home
Amongst the swirls of falling snow
I hear the baying of my hound
A welcome sound this wintery night
To guide my journey home
My heart quickens as do my steps
I no longer feel so alone
I have the love of my family
To guide my journey home
And there now in the distance
I see a yellow glow
A light left shining in the window
To guide my journey home
