I didn't exactly watch the Emmy's last night, but kept going back and forth hoping to catch Billy Crystal's tribute to Robin Williams.... Success !! .... and, it was a nice surprise to see Ralph's face come up, along with others I had forgotten passed away recently.... Wish they'd make that part of the show longer, 'tho....

I was going to watch all The Emmy Awards, things came up so I watched just a little of it. You really did not miss much. I came home about 30 minutes into the broadcast, and there was no real sense of "wow, this is awesome" during the remaining time. Seth Myers was an average host, and a couple of the comedy bits were humorous... but it wasn't something needed to preserve.

I recorded it and watched it after my foreverettes went to bed. They honored 44 people in the "In Memoriam" segment. Ralph Waite was the very first one shown. I haven't seen anything online about anyone being left out of the tribute. I like that they took their time with it and the woman (Sara Bareilles) singing the song "Smile" done a terrific job. I also really liked that there was complete silence except for her singing. Everyone held their applause as each person was shown. I think that shows more respect to everyone's memory because some will gets lots of applause and some will barely get any or none at all. It was still complete silence when they went to the commercial break.
You always read of people being left off the "In Memoriam" at the Oscars. I think they should give respect and honor the memory of them all. If they would cut a few of those unnecessary musical/dance acts and cut down on a lot of the bantering, there would be no excuse not to include them all.
The 66th Emmys In Memoriam list, in the order shown:
