I think it would be good to see a show called The Waltons the Next Generation. Even if it is just a two hour move or a series but this day and time I'm not sure a series would ever make it. With the original cast members that are still with us plus whoever as kids, grandkids and whatever.

Hello everyone. This is Ray Castro the event coordinator for " The Waltons Homecoming 40th Anniversary Reunion " December 2, 2011 at The Legendary Loews Jersey Theatre.I see that some fans have a few questions regarding the reunion. There will be a casual meet & greet Prior to the screening of " The Homecoming". There will NOT be a traditional autograph session at this event. after the screening, the program will consist of a discussion panel with the cast and a Q&A with the fans and that will be followed by a special performance. Tickets to the event are $20.00 and tickets are general admission. There is also a sponsorship package of $300.00 that includes two tickets in the reserved seating up front, back stage passes with a photo op with the entire cast, a signed Homecoming Soundtrack and an invite to the sponsorship lunch/dinner with the cast. For more information regarding the event and sponsorship please visit out website at www.waltonshomecoming40th.com I will be at the Lynchburg reunion with information flyers and ticket sales. Hope this helps clear things up. Looking forward to seeing you all there.

regarding an update show on the waltons...i thought when hallmark started showing reruns they said something about richard thomas coming back to the mountain to raise his kids...it sounded like it was a new series or at least one movie in the making. rencently i haven't heard anything. that would really interest me. with all the junk they are putting on tv right now, all remakes of old shows, that weren't that great to start with, i don't see why this wouldn't work.

The Waltons Next Generation would make a great movie. Also, with Hallmark doing the "Love Comes Softly" series, maybe they would be interested in a Walton prequel. It could be about Grandma and Grandpa and their life before marriage. Hallmark just did Love Begins a prequel to Love Comes Softly. The Love Comes Softly series is by Janette Oke and the movies don't do the books justice, IMHO. I loved the books but the movies drift so far away from the books. The first few movies were produced, written, and/or directed by Michael Landon Jr. I think if the Waltons were to be on tv today, it would have to be on a cable channel like Hallmark, GMC, INSP, etc.

If they make another one without Ike and Cora Beth, it won't be very good...

It's been tried with the Brady Bunch, Bonanza, and a few others but they never make it as a series. They can succeed as a tv movie though. Even a few tv movies as they did with Gunsmoke.

When I was going through the posts on the Forum, I came on this thread and remembered that at the Reunion, Mary was reading off of cards on which we fans all had posted questions, and either she, David, Jon or Eric responded. One of the questions which I had asked was about a future TV reunion with the remaining cast. Mary's response was that she was working on it. I thought this would provide a ray of hope for those who would like to hear something positive about which they had been asking on this Forum. Let's hope that this comes to fruition.

Yeah, I was really excited when I heard her mention that!! I have it recorded and it's on youtube! I'd love to get in on this if possible! Would be great to work with Mary on another reunion film, possibly be an extra or minor character. RYAN-J

I think a new Waltons Reunion movie would be a great project for INSP or Hallmark Channel.
