I am still thinking seriously about attending the reunion this October. I ask one of my four sisters if she would like to go and she said yes. Who ever is in charge of getting cast members there, please try to get all of the main Walton family members there if you can because I would like to have a picture of the Walton family with their autographs on it to hang in our movie room in our house. By the way, if you would happen to be reading this Mary McDonough, it is my sister that has Lupus. After getting back into watching The Waltons again, I think I like the show better than ever. I hope The Hallmark Channel never takes it off. Best wishes to everyone.

hi, i was just reading about these reunions, well the one in calif coming up, i guess the one in va. isn't taking anymore reservations. what i was somewhat shocked to read that you pay an admission fee, fine to that, but to get a photo of any cast member that is there and an autograph it's $20 @. i don't know how responsive they are if you don't particularly want their photo or autograph. oh, they also charge you if you take their photo. i think i would have no problem paying a large entrance fee and let the cast members divide that among themselves. the individual charges leaves me with an awkward feeling. i would just want to speak to them about thier memories of making the show and stories about will gear. but apparently they are there to make money not conversation. certainly don't mean to offend anyone, was wondering what others thought about it. sara

I thought about it..... and when I learned about the fees the actors charged, was helped to my decision that I would not attend..... It's not the money -- but it leaves me uncomfortable. I just wouldn't enjoy the actors as much..... and it might color my feelings about the shows (episodes).
I agree that a larger "entrance fee" would be a better idea.

Truth be told, I can't see any actor showing up for something like that and not get some sort of fee. I think their air fare might be paid and hotel, but that's it? They should get something for entertaining us.

Sure, I think they should get something.... but I like the idea of a larger entrance fee better than a money exchange for each and every autograph, photo, etc -- just too picky or cumbersome somehow.... kinda like paying a minister for marrying you -- it's done quietly somewhere.... you wouldn't want to hand him a payment as you exit the church!
I don't know how it's done at a reunion.... surely, it would be too embarrassing to the actor for a payment to be rather obvious.... I guess that's what bothers me....

Hi there. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think this reunion thing in California is one that several different actors of several different old TV shows are going to be there. I'm pretty sure it is not connected in any way with the one in Virginia that Carolyn Grinnell does. At the one in Virginia, they don't charge any fee for autographs. There is just the cost of the room at the hotel and a fee for the dinner and it is Walton cast members only. The cast members transportation and room and dinner is paid for by sponsors and an auction they have at the reunion etc. I don't think they charge any kind of appearance fee either for coming to Virginia. The cast members that is.

David, I heard different. Unfortunately this year the cast members will charge for their autographs during the autograph session on Saturday morning which is open to the public. The members of the Fan Club Reunion have the possibility for an autograph on Saturday evening without a fee. This is the information I got from Carolyn Grinnell.

That's correct Dagmar. Carolyn sent out a letter regarding a schedule revision and information about autographs. I received mine yesterday, and I spoke to Carolyn last night. The cast members are charging a fee for autographs at the public session on Saturday MORNING, but the reunion guests will have a session with the cast on Saturday NIGHT after the banquet. The evening session is for reunion guests only and the cast will not charge at that time. I think I like the idea of a reunion session only because that will give us more time on Saturday to go to the Museum, the Hamner House and other activities. There is also a luncheon put on by a lady in Schuyler for reunion guests on Saturday. Contact Carolyn to sign up for the lunch. We are less than a month away, and I am looking forward to attending.

Thanks for that info Dagmar. I do remember that Mary was going to have a book signing that is open to the public on Saturday morning but I didn't know the other cast members were going to be there that morning also. I haven't gotten the latest letter from Carolyn yet.

Thanks all for the heads up on the fees for the signing on Saturday. Mary McDonough said each autograph will be $10.00 each and that they will have new and older walton photos available. I'm just going to wait until that evening to get mine signed after the banquet. ;D RYAN-J

I know this is about the reunion that is coming up in October. I want to know why they never made a Waltons Reunion movie after all these years? I would love to see that happen of the Waltons episodes ended. I loved watching the Waltons and watch the reruns when I can. I hope to see a movie of Waltons Reunion coming soon.

that would be awesome! i have said the same thing. i wish they would do a two hour walton movie. the cast could just use their own spouses, children, and so on lol what am i saying?! i would watch a weekly show if they would come back on tv...or better yet, a daily show LOL
