Mary McDonough posted this about 20 minutes ago over at her Official Facebook page. "It is a sad day. So sorry to let you know Joe Conley .our beloved Ike Godsey passed early this morning , please keep him ,Louise, and his family in your prayers . RIP mr. Godsey."I was honored to meet him not once, but twice at the 2010 and 2012 Walton Cast reunions in Lynchburg, VA and Burbank, CA and he was always so kind to me and other fans. I could tell at the 2012 one that he was not in the best of health and was worried that we'd get this news sooner or later. He will be missed! RYAN-J

I post almost the same thing, but I delete it. So, people don't get confused.

I'm sorry to hear this. He was in poor health at last year's gathering, but he was very nice to me when I spoke to him. I'm glad he was able to attend the 40th anniversary reunion. It was a pleasure meeting him.

As a child when I watched the Waltons, I had my favorite characters. As an adult watching the Waltons I grew to love the ones I didn't connect with as a child. Ike Godsey became one of my favorites. R.I.P. Mr. Joe Conley... a forever fan.

This is indeed sad news R.I.P. Mr. Joe Conley.
I noticed in his bio that one of his daughters was named Erin Elizabeth - I was wondering if he had taken the names from the Walton children?

I just joined the forum and had to respond. I am so sad to hear of Mr. Conley's passing. Prayers to Mr. Conley's family I was in high school when The Walton's aired. A couple of years ago when I had emergency surgery and was recovering watching the show was a godsend. RIP.

Joe Conley, who is fondly remembered for playing storekeeper Ike Godsey on CBS family drama “The Waltons” passed away yesterday. He was 85.

Oh, how sad.
What a sweet guy. He sent me a really nice letter a few years back, and then sent me a picture of him in front of Ike Godsey's store. He wrote, " To Daniela, Luv Joe." I love that picture.
R.I.P. Mr. Conley.

So sorry to hear this news. I never had the chance to meet him, but I must say that I always loved how he played Ike. You could always tell how much he loved the Walton family by the way he treated them and little looks and whatnot that he would do. He really added to the character in a great way.
RIP, Mr. Conley

Very sad news this morning. I got to meet Mr. Conley at the reunion last year in California. He was not in good health at that time, but I'm glad he was able to come to the events last year. My thoughts and prayers go to his family today.

So very sad to hear about Joe Conley's passing. While I don't know much about him other than playing Ike Godsey on the Waltons, it is a very sad day for fans of the show. We miss all those who are deceased like an extended family member in some way for all the time we put into watching the show. Thank goodness for now that Ralph Waite, Michael Learned and all the actors who played the Walton children are doing well that I know of. RIP Joe Conley. Hopefully Ike's store will be in good hands WmFan
