And were they dubbed in non English speaking countries? I have a friend in Sweden who is positive The Waltons was shown in the 70s with dubbing.

Hi, we live in Ecuador, and my wife said that she used to see "The Waltons" sometimes as a girl. It was dubbed in Spanish. Sometimes the reunion movies play here now on cable (which we don't have) with subtitles. Kami Cotler told me at one Walton event that she met the girl who dubbed her voice in Spanish.

Yes we did get it in Australia and still do on Foxtel sometimes. It's been a long time since we got the whole series though. I really don't know why Foxtel will sometimes show the first 3, 4 or 5 series and then that's it.
When it originally aired, it was shown a couple of years after it aired in the US. That was very common at the time. We usually had to wait a year or even two before shows started drifting our way. With The Waltons we ended up getting the first two or three seasons altogether.
It's quite different today. Now we get some US shows sent over almost as soon as they finish airing in your country.

This is not what I call a fan club. It is a fanpage like mine www.rockfish-river.com. A fan club to me is The Waltons Int. Fan Club by Carolyn or the former one of Irene Porter from UK . And yes, The Waltons are still popular in Germany .
