Ok Brenda, I'll start the post again at your suggestion. Starting with Awesome's post about Granny Ketchums Sage patch the thought came up that he should be Yancey Tuckers keeper. So he is Yancy Tucker maybe. So who would you be? I am a combination of John Boy the sensitive writer. Ben was a hard worker and a sports fan, he talked about the Yankees a couple times. And Elizabeth was adventuresome and a tomboy. Those three qualities best describe me. So who are you most like and why? Also I was watching the Tempest today and as much as we bang it I think Curt didn't want to acknowledge his past with Mary Ellen because it sounded like he had some war wounds that couldn't make him a full man. That would be partial death in a way especially for a man and I understand if Curt didnt want to be friendly or was different. And it makes the episode make sense. But it still makes a pretty good story when you watch it a few times. Talk soon and best wishes WmFanSportwriter

Well, I’m a mother, but I’m not much like Olivia. I am also a grandmother, but I'm not much like Grandma Walton either. I am a sister, but the only Walton sister I identify with in the least is Erin, because I am a middle sister and she is a middle sister.
I was a school teacher for 34 years, so I think I will have to go with Rosemary Hunter.

Thats a great one for you Brenda since you are a school teacher and a keeper of the Waltons Mountain school. And you teach in rural West Virginia. I went to college and graduated at Davis and Elkins College in Elkins. And by the way more than one person can be a particular character or mixture of them lol. Great feedback so far and I look forward to more. WmFanSportwriter

I am Mary Ellen from having the fighting spirit to the empathy to try to know what it is like to be blind.
I am mule headed and I will get through what I need to get through be it advanced schooling or a traumatic life experience.

I'm like John-Boy. I love to read. I'm like Elizabeth. I'm the youngest in my family. The youngest cousin & grandchildren, on my dad's side of the family.

I would like to be Grandpa Walton which is why I picked the moniker that I did. Like him I dearly love my family and my grandkids. I want to be there for them when they have questions and issues they want to talk about. I want to be able to spend time with them and to pass on to them some of what I have learned over the years. You should be able to feel safe when talking with your grandpa because you know that he will not betray your trust. That was Grandpa Walton, he didn't repeat what he and the kids would talk about and was always there to support them. And they all knew that. I want that.

I used to talk to my grandfathers and grandmas too when they were alive. My grandpa on my moms side would talk to me ressure me and teach me things in a calm way, much like Granpa Zeb did on the Walton's. We called them Quiet Hours often before we went to bed at night. I remember in the Sermon John Boy talked to his Grandpa on the mountain and got good advice. That reminded me of my Grandpa. Im glad you're a good Grandpa to your grand kids. They'll remember you the rest of your life. Talk soon. WmFan

I look at myself as a little bit Olivia Walton and a little bit Rosemary Hunter. I've always been rather domestic and love caring for my home and family. I love being in the kitchen cooking and baking good food. I used to sew and quilt a lot, but those two went by the wayside in later years with time constraints. My faith is very important to me, as it was for Olivia. After my children were older, I went back to work in an elementary school helping Special Ed and Title I Reading students until my retirement several years ago. I like to think I was as patient and caring as Miss Rosemary Hunter was and made just a little bit of difference in the lives of the students I worked with. (I enjoy reading all the posts here, as it tells us a little bit about our fellow forum friends!)

I think I would be a cross between Livy and Zeb. We have six kids, I'm a farm girl and I love kidding around and making the kids laugh.

Hey 4 hours of the Walton's on tv for now. 2 in the morning on GMC, 1 in the afternoon on Hallmark and a nightcap episode on INSP And that's if you don't own the DVDs Excellent. I wonder what the ratings are fr cable reruns. Oh well just nice they're on. I would give a morning hour to Family Ties. They buried that show on GMC At 1 or 2 AM.
