Mary Lou,
I like that banner. If it were bigger, it would make a nice banner for the top of the forum. Unless you really want it removed, I'd rather just leave it there for now. It's not that big.

I lean towards agreement on this... but the only problem I (personally) have is that sometimes I'm away from home (or any computer) for up to 3 or 4 weeks at a time. So I wouldn't receive an email warning until I got back - by which I might have lost my keeper. I don't always know in advance when I'm going to be A.W.O.L so I might not be able to let anyone know. When I first came to this forum I did introduce myself, and I frequently read many of the threads but don't make a comment as I often don't feel confident enough. I have replied on some of the threads though. I'm not suggesting I have special treatment - I just wanted to "put my case across" I would probably make it at least 6 months, maybe a year, before sending out an email, so you don't need to worry about it. Oh Thank You - that would be fine then I would definitely be dipping in and out within a 6 month time scale.....I couldn't go without internet for long periods

I love how everyone is taking part in this. Personally i don't mind all the pictures i think it makes the posts and threads a little bit more lively and colourful. About the keeper thing i think that new members should be on for a period of time because then we know that they will stay instead of getting a keeper and leaving because some members haven't been on for over a year. Maybe we should get a poll on this. Thank you for bringing it up Brenda it is very interesting hearing what people have to say about it.

"What was the definition or original purpose of the Keeper concept? I tried to search for something, but evidently not in the right place."
I brought the keeper concept over from the Anne of Green Gables website. It is a way to participate with others that enjoy the same show.

Scarlett, Do they have any keeper rules at the Anne of Green Gables website?

Scarlett, Do they have any keeper rules at the Anne of Green Gables website?
-Yes, size is one of them. Their keepers are much smaller, like twice as small as the ones we have.
Their board is not as active as ours is, so the regular posters are only a handful or so and a newbie can keep what they want as long as it has not already been taken.
They did have a cool idea and that is to provide a banner that advertises the Anne of Green Gables website and can be used on a personal blog or site, or even a Facebook page.
If you want more members, maybe we could submit graphics to be voted on to advertise the site.

I agree that a person should only have one keeper. There are probably more Forum members than there are Waltons' props, people, etc. LOL
It would be my humble opinion that a person who has a keeper should be a Forum member with a certain amount of time spent here on the forum.

It took until 4-18-2013 for someone to claim GRANDPA WALTON!!!! as a keeper? I am at a loss for words. Well at least Grandpa is feeling the love now.

On the Little House On the Prairie forum. Their Keeper is smaller than our Keepers. I only have 1 keeper over there. I know, I have the most keepers. I have 3 keepers. Should I keep all three of them or just one of them?

You should probably think about which 2 keepers you want to give up, because one keeper per person will be the rule.

Okay, I have decide which keeper to keep. Thank you for your patience. I decide to keep, Keeper of John-Boy. So, the two keepers I'm giving away is Keeper of Elizabeth & Keeper of John-Boy's Writing. So those two are up for grabs.
