I watched The Rebellion today, and had two thoughts about it afterward. Firstly, John, did anybody else think he was a little bit out of character in this episode? When Olivia wants to get her hair cut, he just says "Don't cut your hair" in a rather serious way. Now, I know John never hides it from Olivia if she is going to do something he does not think is a good idea, but I don't recall any other time when he outright tells his wife not to do something. John always respects that every member of his family has the free will to make their own decisions, so telling her not to cut her hair seemed a bit out of character to me, what'd every one else think? Also, was Jason in this episode at all? I remembered several times they mentioned him being in Westham, but I don't think he was actually seen...

I don't think John told Olivia what to do with her hair. He just expressed his opinion, and he turned out to be right with Olivia's bad perm, but it was her choice to make and h and he respected that.. He just didn't like it, and I don't blame him. I, too, thought John was outspoken. I felt as though he were demanding, or at least strongly suggesting, that Olivia not cut her hair. I was surprised by his tone.

A couple of comments.... Maybe they specifically left Jason out of that episode because of the organ controversy.
Also, when it comes to being outspoken, Grandma and Olivia win the prize for that !!
LOVE THIS:
Elizabeth: Mama?
Olivia: Yes Elizabeth?
Elizabeth: John-Boy says your hair grows every single second.
Olivia: That's enough of that.
John-Boy: There are four kinds of human hair -
Olivia: John-Boy -
John-Boy: There's short and crisp, straight, lank -
Olivia: John-Boy -
John-Boy: Long and coarse, wavy and curly, and a special fourth kind of hair called 'Frizzy'.(pause) Mama?
Elizabeth: Mama!
John: Your Mama can't hear you - she's got her head under the pillow.
Everyone: Goodnight Mama!
John: 'Frizzy' says, 'Goodnight'!

And Elizabeth tells her she looks like Shirley Temple.
