I bought all of the dvd's but the movie dvd set. I have seen them at least once, but don't really care for them at all. Just seems like they tried to hard and the inconsistencies are difficult too watch. In the show, the inconsistencies are easier to explain away, but disappearing children is another story.

I'm with you River. I like watching because its nice to see the cast again, but the inconsistencies are a little much to handle. I have them all as well, but I will always watch an episode from the television series first before I watch one of the movies.

Sure there are inconsistencies with the timeline and some other annoyances like disappearing children etc but I enjoy them and feel like they provided some "closure" especially John Boy's wedding. It was nice to have things come full circle. I'm glad they made them.

I'm talking about the ones made in The 80's. There are inconsistencies there, too, even though they were made the year after the end of the TV show! Jonesey is now a vet (suddenly) and Aimee is a bit of a slag! The new take on Ashley Longworth is, er, interesting. He's one of those men who have square heads/haircuts (like Ted Danson) - usually seen in porn films (and this bloke's acting is about on that level).

lol. yeah, and Jason had The Porn mustache.
The guy playing "Paul" wasnt a great actor either.
Erin's actions in that film were pretty evil.
I got a thread around here about how bad The Walton girls treated Men on the series. I cant stand her(The Character not the actress).

I love the little bit about Jim-Bob helping Elizabeth with her Valentine Box. Unfortunately, that was pretty much it for the relationship. That's the only part of any of the movies I find myself drawn to.

I have those movies on DVD and have shamefully watched them but can't say they are what I reach for when I want to watch The Waltons. They were/are awful. So many things just didn't set right with me, I didn't care for, I questioned, etc. Wish the powers that be had put out a better product.
